Kathleen L. 'Kitty' (Crist) Sykes

McLean, Virginia - Kathleen L. “Kitty” (Crist) Sykes, 88, formerly of Williamsport, Pennsylvania died Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the Avalon House, McLean Virginia. She was born on September 28, 1926 in Sonestown, Pennsylvania and was the daughter of the late Grover and Rose (Harding) Crist. On November 11, 1951 Kitty married the late Leon Sykes and they celebrated 37 years of marriage together until his death on October 22, 1989. Kitty was a graduate of Montoursville High School. She was a former member of Congregation Ohev Sholom, Williamsport. Kitty enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law; Vicki S. and Mark Watson of Sturgis, Michigan and Sheri S. and Peter Soyka of Vienna, Virginia and three grandchildren; Nathaniel Watson, Chelsea Watson and Leeann Soyka. In addition to her parents and husband, Kitty was preceded in death by three brothers; Paul, Eugene and Max Crist. The funeral will be held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira Street, Williamsport, with spiritual leader, Rabbi Joel Kessler officiating. Burial will be in Ohev Sholom Cemetery, Williamsport. In keeping with Jewish tradition, there will be no viewing or flowers.
