Kathleen E. Cooper

YORK TOWNSHIP--Kathleen Cooper née Johnson, 92, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2022. She was the wife of Harry Cooper for over 61 years. Ms. Cooper was born in Hartshill, Staffordshire, on April 9, 1930, the daughter of the late William Johnson and Ethel Champ. She was preceded in death by her twin sister Barbara.

Ms. Cooper worked as a medical transcriptionist at the North Staffordshire Royal Infirmary and Pontefract Hospital in Yorkshire after completing her education at the Orme Girls' School. After emigrating to the U.S. in 1973, she continued work for the St. Francis Hospital in Pittsburgh, and in York, Urology Associates and York Hospital. She enjoyed a long career spanning over 50 years.

She leaves a son, Timothy Cooper, and a daughter, Philippa "Pip" Hiden.; a daughter-in-law Anne Pierce Cooper and Pip's partner Ramon Ferrer; grandson Benjamin Cooper and his spouse Erin Lupfer; and grandson Simon Cooper. She was much loved by Pip's pets: bulldog Stoke, and cats Fiona, Zora, Zane, and the late Zoe.
