Katherine T. Cox

Katherine T. (Tate) Cox, 91 a former resident of Lockport from 1952-2006 passed away, Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Grande Village Manor, Twinsburg, OH. She was born July 8, 1918 in Flemington the daughter of Blair C. and Anna M. Tyson Tate. Katherine was married to Charles R. Gallagher in 1942 and he died in 1967. In 1983 she married Meral E. Cox who died in 1998. Katherine worked at the Former Winner Meat Market, Selective Service, and Clinton County Paper Company. In 1968 she started working at the Lock Haven Hospital as a nurse's aide retiring in 1985. She was a 1936 graduate of Lock Haven High School and she enjoyed shopping, gardening and dining out. Surviving are one daughter Dr. Sarah Ann Gallagher and her husband Dr. Richard G. Johnston of Hudson, OH. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 29, 2009 at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall with the Rev. Patty Dodds officiating. Friends and relatives will be received at the funeral chapel on Friday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. and on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:00 A.M. Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Sugar Valley Church of the Brethren or St. Luke's United Church of Christ.
