Katherine R. (Smith) Byrne

TROY- Katherine R. (Smith) Byrne, 95 of Granville Center, PA, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at the Bradford County Manor. She was the loving wife of the late Frank K. Byrne who passed away in 1955. The couple married in 1945 and had 10 happy years together. Katherine was born on December 6, 1918 in Klinesville, NJ, daughter of the late William and Mary Ellen (Rake) Smith. Katherine’s true passion in life was caring for her family and home. Katherine is survived her daughter Carolyn N. Gee of Granville Center, PA, her step sons; Thomas L. Byrne of Troy, PA and Frank K. Byrne of Petty, TX, her sisters; Edith Thatcher and Bessie (William) Beil, both of High Bridge, NJ, Betty (Maurice) Smith of Flemington, NJ, and Hazel Novak of Trenton, NJ, her brothers; Jacob Smith of Oxford, NJ and Charles Smith of Flemington, NJ, along with several nieces and nephews. Following Katherine’s wishes there will be no services. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 1093 West Main Street Troy, PA has been entrusted with the arrangements.
