Karl R. Sprowls

NEW CUMBERLAND—Karl R. Sprowls, 57, passed away Monday May 17, 2021 at his daughter’s residence in Hagerstown, Maryland. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11AM Friday, May 21, 2021 at Fairview Bethel Church of God, 800 Old Forge Rd, New Cumberland. Officiating the service will be Pastor Dan Masshardt and Pastor Eugene Hockenberry. A viewing will be held from 10-11AM, Friday at the church. Burial will be private in Tri-County Memorial Gardens. Beaver Urich Funeral Home Inc., 305 W. Front Street, Lewisberry is in charge of arrangements. Born February 16, 1964 in Washington Pa, he was the son of Carol J. (Pendergrass) and Chuck Harman of Etters. He was employed with the United States Postal Service as a clerk for 25 plus years until his retirement in 2020. When he was not working, Karl could be found outdoors, enjoying several activities including kayaking and snowboarding. He served in the United States Army Reserves and was a 36-year heart transplant survivor. In addition to his parents, Mr. Sprowls is also survived by his daughter, Samantha J. Kreiger and husband, Frederick III of Hagerstown, MD; two grandchildren, Frederick IV and Madison Kreiger both of Hagerstown, MD; one sister, Dena Sibbach of Mechanicsburg and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Deb Fleisher. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Fairview Bethel Church of God, 800 Old Forge Rd, New Cumberland, Pa 17070.
