Karen Yvette Tindal-Short

WILLIAMSPORT - Karen Yvette Tindal-Short, 54, died on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Rose View Center, Williamsport. She was born on May 5, 1960 in Philadelphia and was the daughter of the late Delores (Tindal). Karen graduated from Kensington High School and then obtained her Doctorate in Health Administrative Services. She was a veteran of the US Army. She had worked at; Temple University as a desk assistant, American Rescue Workers, White Deer Run Rehab and the Williamsport Hospital. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where she was active in being; an usher, superintendent of Sunday school, licensed minister, Christian Education Board and the choir. She was also a member of Narcotics Anonymous and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Karen is survived by two sons; Kyron J. Tindal and Khalil D. Tindal, both of Williamsport, one daughter; Aliya M. Garnett of Williamsport, two God daughters; Kisha L. Depitte and Aleya R. Ellzy, both of Williamsport, one God granddaughter; Namya N. Depitte Burks, one brother; James Tindal, Sr. of Williamsport, three sisters; Iva M. Harris, Lisa J. Skinner and Tanya L. Jones, all of Williamsport, devoted friend; Donna Saunders of Williamsport and a host of relative and friends. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by one son; Demetrius “Buck” Tindal in 2010 and two aunts; Romaine Tindal and Yvonne Matthis. There will be a public viewing from 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, 527 Park Ave., Williamsport, where the funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Bishop Charles V. Daniels, Sr. will officiate the services. The graveside service will be held 12 p.m. (noon), Monday, December 01, 2014 at the Merion Memorial Park, 59 Rock Hill Rd., Bala-Cynwyd, PA 19004. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church or to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
