Karen E. Bortner

York—Karen E. Bortner, 80, passed away Monday, October 28, 2024 at Kingston Court Nursing Home – York.

A Celebration of Life Tribute will be private at the convenience of the family. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.

Born February 10, 1944 in Windsor, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow W. Bortner Sr., and the late Ruth Mae (Smeltzer) Bortner.

She was employed as a Knitter/Laborer with Danskin for many years until her retirement.

Karen enjoyed painting, drawing, knitting and crocheting.

Ms. Bortner is survived by two brothers, Harry “Pete” Bortner and Woodrow “Butch” Bortner Jr.; one sister, Ella “Ellie” Lehman and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Warner, Ina Kneisley and Ruthanna Aldinger.
