Kale A. Lentz

MOUNT WOLF- Kale A. Lentz, 88, died on Friday, October 28, 2022 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Grace L. (Freeman) Lentz, who died on September 28, 1993. The couple had been married for 35 years.


A viewing will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York. Service and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.


Born on May 13, 1934 in York, he was the son of the late Paul A. and Mary C. (Corwell) Lentz. Kale was a 23-year Army Veteran who served in the Korean War. After retiring from the Army, he drove bus for Trailways for over 20 years.


Mr. Lentz was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was also a member of the VFW Post 2493 in Mt. Wolf and a member of several Drum & Bugle Corps. His biggest hobby was building model trucks.


Mr. Lentz is survived by two sons, Martin Lentz and his wife, Christine M. of York Haven and Scott Lentz and his wife, Gayle T. of Virginia Beach, VA; three daughters, Debra K. Anderson of Mt. Wolf, Karen F. Lenk and her husband, Jody of East Manchester Twp., and Rebecca A. Lentz and her fiancé David A. Chichester of Red Lion; 22 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Madeline Swartz and her husband, Elwood of Manchester Twp. and his twin, Izetta Eschelman of East Prospect. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela J. Myers who died in 2016; and sister, Edith Ellis.
