June M. (Smith) Ettinger

York—June M. (Smith) Ettinger, 73, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Rest Haven Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late James J. Ettinger Sr. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 P.M., Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York, with the Rev. Richard Starr officiating. A viewing will be held from 1-2 P.M., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Suburban Memorial Gardens. Born March 31, 1938 in York, she was a daughter of the late Clarence H. and Ellen M. (Stark) Smith. She enjoyed reading, sewing, baking for her family, tending both her flower and vegetable gardens and she loved collecting elephant figurines. She was employed with Blue Bird Fabric for 17 years as a textile worker. Mrs. Ettinger is survived by two sons, James J. Ettinger Jr., and John H. Ettinger, both of York; one daughter, Dawn M. Ettinger of York; two brothers, Lloyd M. Smith and Clarence H. Smith Jr; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Delores I.
