June I. (Schneider) Derr

PHILADELPHIA - June I. Derr, 82, of Pottsville, passed away on Thursday at the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Philadelphia. Born in Pottsville, on May 23, 1925, June was a daughter of the late Leo and Ethel Rogers Schneider. On January 17, 1942, she married Robert C. Derr, who survives. Until retiring after 25 years, June worked at Pomeroy's in the Milliany department. She was a member of the St. Patrick's Church, Pottsville. She was also a former member of the Amity Club and she also held offices for the Catholic War Vets Auxiliary. Surviving June in addition to her husband, Robert, of 65 years are: two sons, Robert and his wife Janet Derr, Hillside and Ron and his wife Harriet Derr, of Orwigsburg; a daughter, Patricia Fekete, at home; four grandchildren, Curtis Derr, Scott Fekete, Brenda Gardner and Tamara Lorimer; and a great granddaughter, Lily Grace Gardner; a brother, Leo Schneider, of Hainesport, NJ; a sister Betty Somers, of Pottsville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: two sisters, Jean Bertsch and Mae Barone. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM in the Our Lady of Calvary Chapel, Calvary Cemetery, Hillside Rd., Pottsville. Family and friends may call at the chapel from 9 until time of service. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery. The Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Inc. 6th & W.
