June D. Bowes

June D. Bowes, age 85, of Renovo, died peacefully at her residence, with her family by her side, on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011. She was born in Lock Haven on March 28, 1925, a daughter of the late John M. and Helen B. (Miller) Myers. June graduated from high school and attended Lock Haven State Teacher's College. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was very active in Church work. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women, Order of the Eastern Star, and the Hospital Aid Group. On Nov. 24, 1949, June married William C. Bowes who preceded her in death in 2007. She was a devoted wife and homemaker who loved family time, especially with her grandchildren. June also enjoyed socializing with friends. She is survived by her son: Craig (Cecilia) Bowes of Farwell, daughters: Pamela J. (Edward) Kormanec of Renovo, Brenda G. Grotzinger of Elizabethville, Carol A. Kell of Renovo, and Shari L. (Glenn) Deaven of Harrisburg. Also surviving are grandchildren: Edward, Paula, Heather, David, John, Heath, Craig and Janetta, great grandchildren: Jacob, Jason, and Robert and a sister: Joanne Schenk of Bellefonte. June was preceded by a grandson: Michael Bowes. Funeral services will be held at the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth St., Renovo at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011 with Pastor Robert Pickering officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Private interment will take place in North Bend Cemetery.
