YORK - Julie M. (Graff) Rhoads, 46, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2008 at her residence. She was the wife of David A. Rhoads to whom she was married for 18 years. A graveside tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at Prospect Hill Cemetery with Rev. W. Michael Langford officiating. Family and friends will meet at the Pennsylvania Avenue entrance of the cemetery at 9:45 AM Tuesday. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Born January 25, 1962 in Harrisburg, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Doris [Friedt] Graff, she was a 1980 graduate of Central York High School and a 1984 graduate of York College of Pennsylvania. Mrs. Rhoads worked for the US Postal Service in Lancaster and was a former elementary school teacher in Central and York City school districts. She was an avid pet advocate and enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers, reading, and making crafts. In her childhood, she attended Messiah United Methodist Church and liked to play the flute. Mrs. Rhoads is survived by a sister, Susan L. and husband Rick Warner of York; a brother, William C. Graff of York; a nephew, Bryan Dieterich of Marshall, NC; her mother in law, Mary Rhoads of York; and sister in law, Kelly Rhoads of York. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SPCA, 3159 North Susquehanna Trail, York, PA 17406.
