Julia V. Van Sickle

Julia V. (Adomaitis)) Van Sickle, 89 of North Bend died Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She was born May 24, 1921 in Waterbury, CT the daughter of Leon and Victoria (Vichitis) Adomaitis. Julia was married on August 9, 1941 in Seymour, CT to Alvin C. Van Sickle who died in 1975. She worked for U.S. Rubber Co. in Danbury, CT. Julia was a certified Nurse Aide. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church where she played the piano. She was an avid cook and enjoyed baking pies. Julia operated Grannys Organic Orchard a road stand on Summerson Mountain. She also was involved with Prison Ministry in Clinton County and she was a member of the Womens Aglow Ministry. Surviving are three children daughter Burma (Andy) Welber of York, PA, son Terry (Barbara) Van Sickle of Mt. Wolfe, PA and a daughter Darlene Mills of North Bend. She is survived by 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A son Dale Van Sickle a brother Felix Vick Adomaitis and two sisters Rose Wilson and Jenny Saxton preceded Julia in death. The funeral service will be held 3:00 P.M., Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth Street, Renovo with her pastor the Rev. Mahlon Nevel officiating. Friends and relatives will be received one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery. Memorials: Grace Baptist Church, 15 Ransdorf Ave., N.
