Julia Mckerrow

TROY- Julia McKerrow, age 63 of Troy, PA, was born on May 22, 1944 in Blossburg, PA. The daughter of the late Fred and Rose Bogaczyk, she passed away surrounded by her loving family on January 22, 2008 in the Troy Community Hospital in Troy, PA. She was pre-deceased by her brothers Richard and Fred Bogaczyk and her sister Veronica Wojcik. Julia is survived by her loving husband, David McKerrow, her beloved son and daughter-in-law William and Rebecca Lloyd of Tustin, MI, and her loving daughter and son-in-law Laura and Timothy McGlynn of Ithaca, NY; her grandchildren William Reese Lloyd IV and Isabel McGlynn, her stepchildren Bonnie (Ray) Bixby and their son Zach of Gillett, PA and Kenneth (Katey) McKerrow and their children Alex and Logan McKerrow of Pine City, NY; 6 sisters Irene (Dean) Frey of Blossburg, PA, Lottie Nelcoski of Elmira, NY, Pauline (Donald) Plank of Tioga, PA, Rosemary (Gary) Adams of Pine City, NY, Joann (Jack) Gutshall of Vestal, NY and Diane (Arland) Wood of Blossburg, PA; 2 brothers Andy (Miriam) Bogaczyk of Tioga, PA, and Paul Bogaczyk of Blossburg, PA; and 2 sister-in-laws, Ann Bogaczyk of Blossburg, PA and Linda (Dick) Campbell of Zuni, VA; many nieces and nephews, and friends galore who all loved her dearly. Julia was a teacher retiring after 36 years of service. She taught in Norfolk, VA for 1 year and in Troy, PA for 35 years. She retired in 2002 and said the last day of her teaching career was just as exciting as the first. Julia loved to read and did an abundance of teaching outside the classroom. Julia's children and grandchildren were her reason for life. She loved them with every ounce of her precious little body. Her family and friends will remember her for her intelligence, quick wit and ability to entertain children, but especially for her warm smile that enveloped everyone in her presence. A viewing will be held at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 110 West Main Street, Troy, PA from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2008. Burial will be at the Tioga County Memorial Gardens in Wellsboro, PA at 12 PM on Friday, January 25, 2008. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations be made to a scholarship fund in Julia's name.
