Julia Marie (Soper) Passeri

COLUMBIA CROSSROADS- Julia Marie (Soper) Passeri, 86, of Columbia Crossroads, PA, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2009 at the home of her daughter surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph Passeri who passed away on January 29, 1993. The couple married April 23, 1938 and had 54 happy years together. Julia was born on March 3, 1922 in Binghamton, NY, daughter of the late Leland and Lillian (Crumm) Soper. She was a homemaker and farmer's wife while her children were growing up. After, Julia went to work for the local 5&10, American Silk, then Eureka that became Paper Magic in the town of Troy. She loved to garden and raise flowers, watch birds, and crochet. Throughout her life, her main concern was her family. Julia is survived by her son Fred (Linda) Passeri of Columbia Crossroads, her daughter Mary (Ed) Hammond of East Troy, her grandchildren Wendell Passeri of Wilkesboro, NC and former wife Yvette, Sharon (Wayne) May of Gillett, great grandchildren Krista, Joe and Justin Passeri, her brothers Jack Soper of Florida and Boney (Barb) Soper of Gillett, her sisters Jean (Bernie) Koop of Van Etten, NY, Sally (Phil) Wood of Alba, and Connie Soper and companion Bob of South Dakota, along with several nieces and nephews. Julia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph, her brothers Richard "Dick" and Lee Soper, and her sister Polly Soper. Services are private and at the convenience of the family.
