Juel Olan Snyder

CONEWAGO TWP. - Juel Olan Snyder, 74, died Saturday, January 3, 2009 at his residence. He was the husband of Constance J. "Connie" (Wertz) Snyder. The couple recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 p.m. on Friday, January 9. 2009 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York with a viewing from 12:30-2 p.m. Officiating the service will be the Reverend Donald Pullen and Guss Pappas. Burial will be in Suburban Memorial Gardens in Dover, with full military rites by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Snyder was born in Sunbury on February 14, 1934, a son of the late John Oscar and Dorothy E. (Hunsecker) Snyder. He worked for Halls Motors for 26 years, where he was a member of the Teamsters Union and then worked for YorkCraft. Mr. Snyder was a member of Shiloh American Legion Post 791, Etters V.F.W. Post 537 and the Girard Athletic Association. He served in the US Air Force in the Korean War, where he received several medals. Along with his wife, Mr. Snyder leaves two sons: Stephen J. Snyder and Scott L. Snyder, both of Dover; a grandson, Travis King of Lewisberry; and two great grandsons: Toby and Logan. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Richard Snyder and Kay Snyder; and a sister, Jane Olson. Memorial contributions may be made to S.P.C.A., 3159 Susquehanna Trail N., York, PA 17402.
