YORK- Judith K. (Stover) Brenneman, 62, passed away January 1, 2016 at York Hospital after a three year battle with a rare blood cancer. She was the wife of Jeffrey Brenneman to whom she was married 44 years. A public viewing will be held from 5-7 PM on Monday, January 4, 2016 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. Judith was born May 10, 1953 in York, a daughter of Jean (Brown) Stover of Dover and the late John Stover. Her father, John Stover, was a career warrant officer in the army which resulted in her going to four different high schools, Massachusetts, Spring Grove, and Zama, Japan, before graduating from Dover High School in 1971. She was an axillary member of VFW Post 7045 of Hellam and the American Legion Post 28 of Millsboro, Delaware. Judith and Jeffrey are Subway Franchisees. They opened their first Subway in York in 1990 and their second in 1994 in Columbia. Judy loved working in her stores and greeting and talking with customers, making friends and some lifetime friends. She retired six years ago to babysit their first grandchild. Judy loved her pet Grady, baking and taking boat rides with her husband in the ocean and on the bay. She enjoyed driving her Corvette, her place at the beach with her all her friends, but most of all she loved playing with her only granddaughter, Bella. In addition to her husband, Jeffery, and her mother, Jean, Mrs. Brenneman is survived by a son, Joshua of York, two daughters, Jena Brenneman of Evergreen, Colorado, and Jody Apalaghie and her husband Cristian of Dover; granddaughter, Isabella Apalaghie of Dover; a brother, John Stover II and his wife Teresa of York; two nephews, John Stover III of York and Jason Stover and his wife Samantha of York; great niece, Bexley Stover of York; a sister, Jill Haag of Dover; a niece, Carrie Haag of Wrightsville, and numerous other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wellspan Blood Donor Services, 25 Monument Road, York, PA 17403 or The American Cancer Society, 924 N. Colonial Ave., York, PA 17403.
