MILTON - Joyce M. (Ulp) Stahl, 68, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at the Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg. She was a devoted Christian and was in the presence of her family and loved ones at the time of her passing. Joyce was born on November 20, 1940 in Sunbury, PA and was a daughter of the late J. William and Gladys B. (Booth) Ulp. She was a 1958 graduate of the Northumberland High School. On February 22, 1959, Joyce married Charles F. "Chuck" Stahl, who survives and had celebrated 50 years of marriage this past February at a party celebrated with all of their family and many friends from throughout their lives. Chuck and Joyce had recently returned from a week-long getaway to Mexico on a cruise. All three children and their spouses had each accompanied them in the past three years. Joyce was a former secretary for the Milton Area School District, worked for the Milton Boro for over 25 years and the last 6 were spent as Boro Manager. She currently was the office manager for the Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, Milton. She was an active member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Milton and was involved in the bell choir and church choir, altar guild and church council. Joyce was one of 25 individuals selected from the state to represent "Voices of Hope" and was a member of the Relay for Life. She held several offices in the Milton Rotary Club. She was a volunteer with the Evangelical Community Hospital, enjoyed cruising, going to the beach and attending the Bucknell Bison's athletic events. Most of all, she enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren's events, supporting others that needed help and had touched many lives through the cancer society. In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; James F. and Wendy Stahl of Lewisburg, Charles E. and Dee Stahl of Milton, one daughter and son-in-law; Carol A. and Nevin Yost of New Columbia, five grand children; Kyle L. Stahl and his wife Rhonda of Milton, Chucky W. Stahl of Milton, Nevin N. Yost of Pittsburgh and Ruth M. Yost and Ike P. Yost, both of New Columbia, one brother and sister-in-law; Richard B. and Ann Ulp of Camp Hill, mother-in-law; Margaret E. Stahl of Lewisburg and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one infant son; Randall E. Stahl. There will be a public viewing from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2009 at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 Mahoning St., Milton, PA 17847 with the funeral service starting at 1 p.m. The Reverend Cheryl L. Berner will officiate the services. Burial will follow in the Milton Cemetery, Milton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Joyce may be made to the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church or to the American Cancer Society, 1948 East Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701. Arrangements are being handled by the Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front Street, Milton, PA 17847.
