Joseph Miller

YORK- Joseph Miller, 61, of Manchester Township, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016 at his residence. He was the husband of Mary E. (Pierce) Miller. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York. Visitations will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. A Graveside Celebrant Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, officiated by Kasie Watkins. Military honors will be provided by the US Air Force at the cemetery. Mr. Miller was born in Hawthorne, NJ on October 10, 1955, the son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Parker) Miller. He worked for 11 years as an Anesthesia Technician at York Hospital. Prior to that he had worked for over 11 years at Hackensack University Medical Center, also as an Anesthesia Technician. He enjoyed music and played the bagpipes professionally and recreationally since he was 11. He served in the US Air Force in the Vietnam War. Mr. Miller leaves two daughters, Amanda E. Miller, currently attending Immaculata University and Sarah A. Miller, at home; a son, Ian Miller currently serving in the US Army in Washington State; a sister, Margo Gilman of California; an aunt, Eileen Hagel and her husband Sparky of Tennessee and Jeremy Button of New York.
