Joseph M. Crim

YORK- Joseph M. Crim 98, of Springettsbury Township, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Misericordia Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of the late Gloria B. Crim. Mr. Crim was born in Elkins, WV on November 8, 1923, the son of the late Charles B. Crim, Sr. and Edna Rachel Crim. He retired in 1988 from York International where he had worked for 40 years. Mr. Crim was a 1942 graduate of William Penn Senior High. He was a life member of VFW post 5865. He was a member of the 25 Year Club at York International., ARP, and the National and PA LST Association. He enlisted in the US Coast Guard in June of 1942. He served aboard a sub chaser and on a landing ship, LST 262. He saw action in the Mediterranean area and the D-Day invasion of Normandy in WWII. Mr. Crim leaves a son, Joseph M. Crim and his wife Margaret of Manchester; a daughter, Donna K. Schiding and her husband Richard of York; two grandchildren, Suzanne Mescan of York and Diane Sarver of York. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Joanne Schiding. Memorial contributions may be made to Misericordia Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 998 Russell Street, York, PA 17402.
