Joseph J. Worlinsky

WILKES-BARRE-Joseph J. Worlinsky, 81, of Wilkes-Barre passed away Saturday, at Hospice Community Care at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre. Born in Pringle, on April 30, 1928, he was a son of the late Frank and Julia (Blanard) Worlensky. He was a former member of Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church, Wilkes-Barre, where he served on the church council and was an usher for many years. Joseph is a member of All Saints Parish, Plymouth. Joseph was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, the former Betty J. Prutzman, who died July 9, 1997. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Frank Worlensky and two sisters, Josephine Worlensky and Florence Valyo. He is survived by; two sons, Christopher W. Schwartz and his wife Diane, Hanover Township, Wilbur J. Worlinsky, Hanover Township, three grandchildren, Christopher J., Nicole and Dawn Schwartz, a brother, Daniel F. Worlensky, Wilkes-Barre, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 9:15 AM from Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 S. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at All Saints Parish, 66 Willow Street, Plymouth. Officiating will be Father Robert Kelleher. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call on Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
