Joseph J. Generella

POTTSVILLE- Joseph J. Generella, 81, of Pottsville, passed away on Thursday evening at his residence. Born in Pottsville on January 8, 1929 Joe was a son of the late Fernando and Esther Garrett Generella. Joe worked for Hahn Motors Fire Apparatus, Hamburg, for many years until he retired. He was a member of the former Saint Joseph Church, Pottsville. Joe was a member of the Mechanicsville Game and Fish and the Rod and Reel Gun Club, Pottsville. Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Florence E. Ney Generella, who passed away February 15, 1996; his son, Joseph J. Generella, Jr.; his sister, Roseanna Benedict; his brother, Frank Generella. He is survived by his daughter, Gina M. Generella, of Pottsville; his three sons, Frank B., of Pottsville, Mark A., of Lehighton and Todd A. Generella, of Palo Alto; his 7 grandchildren, Joseph C., Kim, Anthony, Joshua O., Lauren, Leanne, Joshua S. and Savannah Generella; his three great grandchildren, Derek James, Veronica and Emily Generella; his brother, Bruno Generella, of Worcester, MA; several nieces and nephews. Graveside interment services will be held on Tuesday morning at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Hillside, Pottsville. Deacon Jack Quirk will officiate. Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., Pottsville is in charge of arrangements.
