Joseph J. 'Buzzy' Roshannon

Joseph J. “Buzzy” Roshannon, 75, of Pottsville, passed away Saturday evening at Schuylkill Medical Center- East surrounded by his loving family. Born in Minersville, April 14, 1938, he was the son of the late Anthony and Helen (Rutecki) Roshannon. Joseph was formerly a member of Mary Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville, and was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. Joseph was retired from the Local 158 Union, where he was a construction worker. He enjoyed playing poker and going on trips to Hollywood Casino with his friends and family. He was also an avid Nascar fan and enjoyed car shows. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph and a brother, John Roshannon, who passed in 1988. Surviving to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 56 years, Rose (Hrin) Roshannon; three sons, Dennis and his wife Vicky, Valley View, Jeffery and his wife Lori, Pottsville, Andrew and his wife Nancy, Schuylkill Haven; five grandchildren, Amy and Joseph Roshannon, Nicole Herring, Jenny Roshannon, Abigail Roshannon; two great grandchildren, Anastaisa and Scarlett; two brothers, Charles and George, both Minnersville; a sister Dorothy Maxwell, Reading. Funeral Services will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 20, at 11:00am at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, with the Rev. Father John Little officiating. Friends and family may call from 9:00 - 11:00am Wednesday morning at the funeral home. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Hillside, Pottsville.
