POTTSVILLE- Joseph “Gary” Seaman, 71, of Pottsvile, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at his home. Born in Pottsville on September 7, 1941, Gary was a son of late Norbert and Mary Ritzel Seaman. Gary was a 1959 graduate of Nativity BVM, Pottsville. Gary was a truck driver most of his 40 years of his working career. He retired in 2003 from ABF Trucking. Gary was a member of Saint Patrick’s Church, Pottsville. Gary was loved the outdoors where he spent a lot of his time fishing, hunting deer, duck hunting and was an avid fly-fisherman, having tied his own flies that he used as bait. Gary was a member of the Beckville Gun Club, Cressona, member of the NRA, member of the North American Hunting Club and also competed in the Minersville Trap shooting League. Gary loved animals and always supported the SPCA. Gary is survived by his loving wife Judi Loftus Seaman, to whom he was married 33 years; his daughter, Julie Leiby,wife of David, of Pottsville; his five sons, James J.Lilek, husband of Christa, of Warrenton, VA, Kevin Seaman, husband of Basia, of Radnor, PA, Bryan Seaman, husband of Renee, of East Norriton, PA, and Rodney Seaman, husband of Peggy, of Norristown, PA, ; 13 Grandchildren: his brother, Charles “Chuck Seaman, husband of Laverne, of Mechanicsville; his sister, Judith Cooper, wife of Mel, of Huntington, PA;his cousin, who was more like a brother to Gary, Larry Seaman, husband of Judy, of Minersville; several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday morning at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Patrick’s Church, 4th & Mahantongo Streets, Pottsville. Family and friends may call from 9:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. at Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, 6th & West Market Streets, Garfield Square, Pottsville, PA. There will be no viewing in Saint Patrick’s Church on Friday morning. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Hillside, Pottsville . In Lieu of flowers, you may honor Gary’s wishes by donating to the Hillside SPCA, Hillside Road, Pottsville or Saint Patrick’s Memorial Fund, 319 Mahantongo Street, Pottsville. Memorial donations will be accepted on Friday morning at the funeral home and also at the church.
