YORK- Joseph F. Ciarcia, Sr., 65, died on Friday, September 7, 2012 at his residence. He was the husband Alice A. (Stanley) Ciarcia. The couple wed on March 9, 1978. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with Chaplain Wesley S. Mast officiating. A visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Born on December 8, 1946 in Winchester, MA, he was a son of Lillian (Dunbar) Ciarcia and the late Joseph J. Ciarcia. Joseph graduated from Northeastern University in Boston with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering. He worked as a mechanical engineer at Greerco, which became FES/GEA, for over 45 years until his retirement in 2009. Mr. Ciarcia was a life member of the Sons of Italy Lodge 1580 in Winchester, MA. Joseph enjoyed traveling the world. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed rooting for the Patriots and Red Sox. Along with his wife, Alice, Joseph is survived by a son, Joseph F. Ciarcia, Jr. and his wife, Julie Ann of West York; two daughters, Amy P. Schneider and her husband, Joseph of Hellam and Eileen N. Frederickson and her husband, Rick of Pembroke, NH; five grandchildren, Bella Skye Schneider and Kaitlyn, Rebecca, Gunnar and Zachary Frederickson; two sisters, Linda McKinley and her husband, Bob of Bridgewater, MA and Nancy Gray and her husband, Scott of Chelmsford, MA; a sister in law, Mary Ciarcia of Ridgefield, CT; a brother in law, Harry Parker of Haverhill, MA; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Ciarcia.
