LEHIGH VALLEY - Joseph E. Moore, 74, of Pottsville, died Monday afternoon at the Lehigh Valley Medical Center, Allentown. Born in Pottsville on February 18, 1933, he was a son of the late William and Mary Buehler Moore. He graduated from Pottsville Catholic High School in 1953. On May 4, 1957 he married the former Catherine Ganly, who survives. Until retiring in 1995 he was employed as a truck driver by Lehigh Valley Dairies. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Pottsville. He was also a charter member of the Muddy Creek Sportsman's Club. He was also retired from the Army National Guard. In addition to his wife of 50 years, Catherine, Joe is survived by: a son Joseph Moore, Jr., of Marlin; two brothers, William of Oklahoma and James, of Branchdale; three sisters, Barbara Knapper, of Reading, Rosemarie Kolavich, of Delaware and Caroline Ketner, of Boyertown; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 AM from St. John the Baptist Church, Pottsville, with the Reverend David Loeper officiating. Family and friends may call at the church from 9 until time of service. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. John the Baptist Memorial Fund, 913 Mahontongo St., Potsville, PA 17901. The Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 6th & W.
