Joseph A. Rogers, Jr.

DOVER – Joseph A. Rogers, Jr., 61, passed away Monday, October 9, 2017 at York Hospital. Joe was the devoted husband of Bonnie J. (Steinkamp) Rogers to whom he was married for 39 years. Born August 25, 1956 in York, son of the late Rosalina (Cordero) Rogers and Joseph A. Rogers, Sr. Joe was a US Marine Corps, Vietnam War Veteran. He was a proud retiree of SKF USA, Hanover, where he worked for 26 years. Joe enjoyed camping and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Joe is survived by two sons, William and wife Lisa of Hanover and Joseph III and wife Jolette of Dover; two daughters, Jacquline and husband A.J. of Dover and Jenn and husband Corey of Mt. Wolf; 11 grandchildren; a brother, Roger of Seven Valleys; a sister, Sandy of Centennial, Colorado; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas; and a sister, Phyllis. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, October 13, 2017 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Certified Celebrant Kealey Smartnick officiating. A visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30 PM Friday at the Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with full military honors presented by York County Veterans Honor Guard.
