MILTON - Joseph A. Kerstetter, 88, died on Monday, January 24, 2011 at Manor Care Health Services, Sunbury. Joseph was born on December 17, 1922 in Liverpool, and was the son of the late Joseph G. and Esther G. (Kratzer) Kerstetter. He was married on November 30, 1942 to the late Irene L. (Binder) who had died on September 18, 1997 and celebrated 54 years of marriage before her death. He was a veteran of the US Army and served during WWII with HQ Company, 660th Engineer, TOPO.BN from 1943 to 1945. Joseph was a former employee of Buser Supply, drove cab for the Milton Cab Company and retired in 1988 from North Star Steel. He was a member of the Milton Fire and Ambulance and a life member of the Loyal Order of Moose, VFW Post 1665 and Boys Town. Joseph is survived by two brothers and one sister-in-law; William Kerstetter of Selinsgrove and Stephen and Dorthy Kerstetter of Liverpool, four sisters and one brother-in-law; Beulah Arnold, Alice Strauser, Thelma Kerstetter and Lottie Pauline and James Dietz, all of Liverpool, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers; Elmer and Robert Kerstetter and five sisters; Joyce Kerstetter, Laura Leach, Marcella Goodling, Daisy Pyle and Betty Gearhart. The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 28, 2011 at The Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service,125 N. Front Street, Milton with the Reverend Douglas J. Seagle officiating. There will be a public viewing from 10 to 11. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1948 East Third Street, Williamsport, PA 17701.
