Jon R. Burke

DELTA-Jon R. Burke, 56, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at his home in Delta, PA after a lengthy illness. Born January 21, 1953, in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the beloved son of Florence F. Burke and then late William J. Burke, Sr. Jon had a special love for dogs and was especially proud of his German Shepherd, Flo. He also enjoyed many quiet days fishing in both Pennsylvania and Maryland. In addition to his mother, Jon is survived by a daughter, Angela Workman and two granddaughters, Cheyenne and Hannah Workman; a brother, William J. Burke, Jr. and his wife, Judy of Reedsburg, WI; two sisters, Peggy Tilton and her husband, Dennis of Dover, PA and Nancy Newman and her husband, Doug of Gettysburg, PA; many nieces and nephews; and grandnieces and grandnephews. Jon was also blessed with several wonderful friends who continued to sustain him through some very difficult years. The family will always be grateful for their loving care.
