SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT - John William “Bill” Badger, 86, died on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at his residence. He was married on June 19, 1954 to the former Carol T. (Taylor), who survives, and the couple celebrated 60 years of marriage in June. John was born on August 25, 1928 in Williamsport and was the son of the late John Warley and Loretta Margaret (Yingling) Badger. He graduated from South Williamsport High School, class of 1946. He was a veteran of the US Navy. After various places of employment, he settled in to be the drive-in-teller for First National Bank of Williamsport and then later retired. He was a member of the South Williamsport United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir for many years. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America and was the past commander of the Knights of Malta. He enjoyed camping, traveling and working in his workshop, especially building layouts for his model trains. John enjoyed conversations with people whether he knew them or not. In addition to his wife Carol, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; David A. and Helen Badger of Charlotte, NC and John E. and Gayle Badger of Williamsport, one daughter and son-in-law; Kathleen S. and David Temple of Williamsport, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother; Charles R.E. Badger. There will be a time of visitation from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira St., Williamsport with the memorial service to begin at 11:00 a.m. The Reverend Mark D. Brumbach will officiate the service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family will provide the flowers and ask that memorial contributions be made to the South Williamsport United Methodist Church, 409 Main St., S. Williamsport, PA 17702.
