Manchester—John W. "Johnny" Hunt Sr, 70, passed away, Monday, May 24, 2010 at his residence in Manchester Boro. He was the husband of Patricia A. "Pat" (Fink) Hunt. A funeral service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc, 1551 Kenneth Rd, York, with the Rev. Charles Bubb, of the Praise Center in York, officiating. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, at the funeral chapel. Burial will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born August 17, 1939 in York, he was a son of the late Leverne J. and Irene M. (Blauser) Hunt. He was employed as a driver with Preston Trucking for 22 years, until his retirement in 1998. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the York County Veterans Honor Guard, American Legion Post 605-Dallastown and an avid armchair sportsman. In addition to his wife, Mr. Hunt is survived by four step-sons, Jeffrey L. Kunkle and wife Kim, Richard A. Kunkle and wife Chris, Michael F. Kunkle and wife Connie and Craig R. Leitheiser and fianc窠Amanda Sheaffer, 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, two brothers, Gene L. Hunt and Jeffrey G. Hunt, three sisters, Bonnie L. Warren, Betty Yoder and Mary Armstrong and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, John W. Hunt Jr. Memorial contributions may be made to any veteran's charity of your choice or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Johnny would prefer casual dress and a happy farewell party.
