John W. Casner

YORK- John W. Casner, 66, died on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at his residence. Services for Mr. Casner will be held at a later date. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements. Born on February 7, 1949 in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Homer B. and Dorothy Z. (Muthersbaugh) Casner. John was a custodian for York County. Mr. Casner served our country in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam and also served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Casner was a member of the First Baptist Church of York and was active in the Outreach Mission at the York Rescue Mission. He was also active in Sunday School at church. Mr. Casner is survived by three brothers, Gerald R. Casner and his wife, Leslie of New Cumberland, Eldon J. Casner and his wife, Roberta of Lewistown and Thomas E. Casner and his companion, Debra of Dover; four sisters, Marsha A. Ettinger and her husband, Ron of Lewistown, Shirley L. Shellenberger Linde and her husband, Eric of Macungie, Catherine M. Weaver and her husband, Leslie of Kane and Mary M. Sine Zimmerman of Elizabethtown. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Neil Sieber. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of York, Outreach Mission, 3375 Druck Valley Rd., York, PA 17406.
