John W. Amig, Jr.

YORK – John W. Amig, Jr., 51, passed away Monday, August 23, 2021 at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center as a result of injuries sustained in a workplace accident on May 14th. He was the husband of Angelique H.M. (Lloyd) Amig to whom he would have celebrated 20 years of marriage on Sept. 1, 2021. A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, August 29, 2021 at IBEW Union Hall Local 410, 2701 W. Patapsco Avenue, Baltimore, MD with his friend, Ronald Feeser officiating. A visitation will be held from 1-3:00 PM Sunday at the Union Hall. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Born May 2, 1970 in Hanover, PA; a son of John W. Amig (Emily R., partner) of New Oxford and the late Darlene L. (Strausbaugh) Ackerman, he was a graduate of the Welding Technology Program at York Co. School of Technology. John worked for Baltimore Gas & Electric Co. and was a member of IBEW Union Local 410. He was an avid gun collector and enjoyed competing in shooting competitions as well as reloading ammunition. John loved riding Harley Davidson motorcycles and being around dogs and horses. He had a knack for storytelling and was always up for dishing out a good laugh. In addition to his wife, John is survived by two daughters, Aislinn M. King and Hannah L. Amig both of York; two grandchildren, Aiden M. King and Lillian C. Johnson; a brother, Bobby L. Amig of Spring Grove; a sister, Angela M. and husband Stephen Kohler of Spring Grove; two brothers in law, Mark J. Lloyd of Abbottstown and Jeffrey C. Lloyd of Columbia, MD; and several nieces and nephews.
