John Seigh

RED LION—John Seigh, 85, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Magnolias of Lancaster. He was the husband of the late Melissa A. (Getty) Seigh. A Celebration of Life Tribute will be held from 10-11AM Monday, August 30, 2021 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Born July 24, 1936 in Johnstown, he was a son of the late John and Johanna (Hrescak) Seigh. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College and later graduated from George Washington University with his Master’s degree. Mr. Seigh also proudly served in the United States Army. He was employed as a chemical systems analyst with the Department of the Army for many years until his retirement. A member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, he also enjoyed driving with the top down in his BMW, attending plays with his wife and children at Mt. Gretna and loved working outdoors. He was a skilled woodworker, liked building furniture and enjoyed going out to eat. Mr. Seigh is survived by one son, Christopher P. Seigh and wife, Jeanne Nemeth of Lyndhurst, OH; one daughter, Beth A. Patton and fiancé, Brian Schmitt of Woodstock, VA; two grandchildren, Stephen Hall of Red Lion and Danielle Hall both of Red Lion; one brother, Donald Seigh and wife, Mary Jo of Indiana.
