John R. Prowell

WEST YORK – John R. Prowell, 58, was called home to be with his Lord on Friday, February 21, 2014 from his home. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, February 28, 2014 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with Rev. Steven Schmuck officiating. A viewing will be held from 9-10:00 AM Friday at the Funeral Home. Private burial will be in Freysville Zion UM Cemetery. Born January 25, 1956 a son of the late Daisy M. and Donald E. Heck and the late Ralph A. Prowell, he was a 1973 graduate of Red Lion Area High School. He retired after over 34 years with BAE Systems of York. John regularly attended Twelve Step program with a sobriety anniversary of July 27, 2007. He had an extensive music collection and attended the Keystone Record Collectors Club events. Mr. Prowell is survived by one brother, Rodney A. Prowell of York; one sister, Susan (Heck) Neff and husband Randy of Red Lion; one nephew, Ryan D. Heck and wife Denise; two nieces, Angela (Neff) Gouker and husband Grant and Kristi (Neff) Geiger and husband Joshua.
