John R. Dykeman

YORK- John R. Dykeman, 85, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at his residence. He was the husband of Joan M. (Liller) Dykeman. The couple planned to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on September 23rd. A viewing will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York. Born on October 20, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late Robert and Emma (Shaw) Dykeman. John was a Planner for Telephonics Corporation on Long Island. Mr. Dykeman served our country for two years in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was an avid golfer, bowler and had a passion for the New York Mets. Along with his wife, Joan, John is survived by his daughter, Jane Keim of York; his son, Tom Dykeman and his wife, Jana of York; and six grandchildren, Brian and his wife, Danielle, Robbie, Allison, Stephanie, Katie and Jennifer.
