WILKES-BARRE- John P. O'Donnell, Sr. 93, of Kingston, passed away October 15, 2013 at Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre. Jack, as he was known, was born in Carbondale, on June 24, 1920 to the late, Patrick J. and Ellen T. O'Donnell. As a young man, Jack joined the 109th Field Artillery, and joined the US Army in 1940. He served in the European Theater as an operating room technician. He later worked as a iron worker and welder in eastern PA and NJ. Jack was a member of the VFW and American Legion Jack is survived by his children, Maureen, Linda, Joseph and Patricia, several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his children, John P. Jr. and Catherine, and siblings, Bernard and Maureen. Services will be private and are entrusted to Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home.
