John P. Brandenburg, Jr

Windsor—John P. Brandenburg, Jr., 57, died Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Hospice & Community Care-Mt. Joy Inpatient Center. He was the husband of Sharon A. (Saylor) Brandenburg to whom he was married for 26 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 1 PM, Monday, July 1, 2013 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York with his pastor, the Rev. Jeff Coppage and his former pastor, the Rev. Wanda Weidman officiating. A viewing will be held from 11 AM-1 PM, Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Born August 3, 1955 in York, he was a son of the late John P. Brandenburg, Sr, and Phyllis D. (Sweitzer) Brandenburg. He was employed with Precision Components as a tool grinder for 31 years and most recently worked with PT Industries. A life member of both the Yorkana Fire Company and the Royal Fire Company, he was also a member of the BD Social Club, York City Fireman’s Assoc., and past treasurer of the Yorkana Fire Company. He enjoyed exploring for and buying antiques and spending summers at the family bungalow on the river. In addition to his wife, Mr. Brandenburg is also survived by two daughters, Deborah A. Keiser of York and Kathy J. Keiser of Scranton; two grandchildren, Charlie and Tyler; one sister, Betty J. Danley of W. York; father and mother-in-law, Emory and Doris Saylor of Red Lion; two sister-in-laws, Janet Warner of Red Lion and Marion Fake and husband, Paul of Windsor, close friend, Rick Poff and family and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Keiser III. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Moravian Church, 901 Cape Horn Rd, York, PA 17402 or Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Dr., PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604. Mr. Brandenburg’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Mt. Joy Inpatient Center and Hospice & Community Care for all their compassionate care and support.
