John M. Riniker

TROY - John M. Riniker, at the age of 90 formerly of Newland Drive, Troy, PA passed away Friday, January 20, 2012 at the Sherwood Personal Care Home, Canton, PA. John was born February, 1921 in Mechanicsville, PA. He was a graduate of Doylestown High School 1938. He and the late Verna L. (Sorg) Riniker were married and celebrated 61 wonderful years together before her passing in 2006. John was a farmer most of his life and also retired from Doylestown Lumber Company. He made custom cabinets, furniture and wooden toy trucks. His fine woodworking skills can be found in many homes in the Troy Area and in many of his family members’ homes. He was a faithful member of the Springfield Baptist Church, Springfield, PA. Family and friends are invited to call from Monday, January 23, 2012 from 6 to 8 PM at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 1093 West Main Street Troy, PA. John’s service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 8 PM with Rev. Daniel Graham and Rev. James Crupi officiating. Committal services will be held in Mechanicsville Cemetery, Buckingham Township, Bucks Co. PA, on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 1:00 PM. Survivors include his oldest son and a daughter-in-law, Dale & Mary Riniker of Bel Air, MD, a son Wayne J. Riniker of Freehold, NJ, and a daughter, Sharon L. Keller of Naples, FL. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Keith Riniker, Jennifer Rogers, Katie Templeton, Benjamin Riniker, and Brian Keller, and thirteen great-grandchildren. John was predeceased by his brother C. Raymond Riniker. Contributions can be made to The Jesus Film Project in lieu of flowers.
