John L. Howard

BROGUE- John L. Howard, 73, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at his home. He was the husband of Catherine M. (Latterman) Howard to whom he was married for 17 years. Tribute services will be private. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Born November 10, 1942 in York, a son of Norma M. (Gohn) Howard of Stewartstown and the late Roy S. Howard, he worked as a mason for many years throughout the York area. Mr. Howard was a member of the Brogue Area Jaycees and the Fish and Game Club. He enjoyed spending time at the Sugar Shack listening to and playing bluegrass music with his brothers, and playing on his horseshoe team, in “Mostly Missed League”. In addition to his wife, Mr. Howard is survived by; a son, Ronald Howard and wife Trena of Brogue; a daughter, Susan Miller and husband David of Airville; a step-daughter, Julie Cummings and husband Mark of White Hall, MD; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Amanda, Brandon, Garrett, Sierra, Tyler and Nichole; five great grandchildren; three brothers, Rick Howard, Lynn Howard, and Mark Howard all of Felton; and a sister, Bonnie Matthews of Stewartstown. He was preceded in death by a son, George Howard; and a brother, Tim Howard.
