John K. Hylind

FELTON-John K. Hylind, 53, of Chanceford Township, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Agnes D. (Vanko) Hylind. The couple celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary on February 22, 2021. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon on Friday, November 19, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 251 E. Main Street, in Dallastown. Father Mark Weiss will be officiating at the service. Viewings will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion and from 11:00 a.m. until noon at the church on Friday. Mr. Hylind was born in Bethesda, MD on December 29, 1967, the son of Mary Johanna (Rabbett) Hylind of Bethesda, MD and the late Kenneth George Hylind. He worked as a quality inspector for Textron Systems, Inc in Hunt Valley, MD. Mr. Hylind was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dallastown. He was a 1985 graduate of Walter Johnson High School in Bethesda MD and earned an Associates Degree from Montgomery County Community College. John was a “Jack of all trades”. He could create and fix anything. You could always find him under the hood of a car with his children and grandchildren. He was self-taught, amazingly clever, and self-driven. He looked forward to long road trips with his family each summer. Mr. Hylind leaves two sons, Daniel and Brian Hylind; two daughters, Victoria and Emily Hylind; two grandchildren, Carter and Bennett; five brothers, Paul (Lydia) Hylind, William “Billy” (Tricia) Hylind, Mark (Nancy) Hylind, Kenneth “Kenny” (Linda) Hylind, and James “Jimmy” (Amy) Hylind; a sister, Eileen Hylind; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Kevin Hylind. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 251 E.
