John Joseph Barnhart

John Joseph Barnhart, 59, went to be with the Lord and his mother Sunday, February 26, 2017 at the Margaret E. Moul Home with his family and Chaplain Mike Miller by his side after his many years battle with M.S. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner, 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. A viewing will be from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Freysville Cemetery. Born July 12, 1957 at home in Spring Garden Twp., he was the son of John Barnhart and the late Minnie A. (Fake) Barnhart. John was a graduate of York Suburban High School, where he was a drummer in the band. He worked as a pressman at Maple Press Co. for 19½ years. Mr. Barnhart attended Bethany United Methodist Church. He was a member of York County Runners Club and ran in many marathons. John was also a member of Graphic Communication Union. He loved trips to the beach and was an avid New England Patriots fan. John was kind and caring and was always there with a smile to help others. Mr. Barnhart is survived by two sisters, Deborah Querry and husband, Art and Ellen Stough and husband, Rick, all of York; two nieces, Ellen Kline and husband, Scott of Airville and Michelle Archer and husband Eric of Chino Valley, AZ; one nephew, Arthur Querry, Jr. of Red Lion; two step nephews, Jeff Stough and wife, Jean of Abbottstown and Scott Stough and wife, Kristin of Hinesburg, VT; great nieces and nephews, Darian and Courtney Kline, Zachary and Jacob Archer and Lilly, Paige and Dawson Querry. He was preceded in death by a great niece and nephew, Michaela and Mitchell Brown. Memorial contributions may be made to the Margaret E. Moul Home, 2050 Barley Rd., York, PA 17408.
