John "Jack" L. Frye, Jr.

YORK – John “Jack” L. Frye, Jr., 93, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023 at York South Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of the late Mary M. (Shirey) Frye to whom he was married for 38 years.

Born February 3, 1930 in Somerset, PA, he was a son of the late John L. Frye, Sr. and Ruth (Baughman) Frye.

Jack retired from the heating and refrigeration business with Agway, where he worked for most of his life. Mr. Frye was a big deer hunter, an avid dog lover, a great card player and really enjoyed spending his free time with his family and friends.

Mr. Frye is survived by his four children, Dr. Jeffrey Frye, Patty Gemmill, Deborah Goulden, Connie Evans; two step-daughters, Anne Schaale and Lee Miller; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and two sisters, Audrey Fosbrink and Eileen Baer. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary, two brothers and a sister.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., York, is in charge of arrangements.
