John J. Shue

Horntown, VA- John Junior Shue, 97 formerly of York passed away Sunday, August 7, 2022 at Tidal Health Peninsula in Salisbury, MD. He was the husband of the late Janet E. (Kindig) Shue. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York, with a visitation from 10-11 a.m. Certified Celebrant Allison Duke will be officiating at the service. Burial will follow in Mount Rose Cemetery in York, with full military honors by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Shue was born in York on October 12, 1924, the son of the late John and Elsies (Shrum) Shue. He retired as a supervisor at York Wallcoverings. Mr. Shue was a member of Hawk’s Gunning Club, Viking Athletic Association, Prince Athletic Association, Rooster Club, Shiloh American Legion, and numerous other social clubs. In his younger days he was an avid bowler and member of various leagues and he enjoyed the beach and fishing. Mr. Shue leaves a grandson, Matthew S. Shue; a granddaughter, Jessica P. Shue; and a great, great grandson, Carter Flynn Younts. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Janette Elizabeth Shue on July 17, 2022.
