John J. Harner

John J. Harner, 64, passed away, Wednesday, August 19, 2008 at San Juan de Dios Hospital in San Jose Costa Rica of complications of pneumonia. John was born on February 15, 1944 in Lycoming County, Pa. John was the last member of his immediate family and did not leave any survivors. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at the Emanuel Cemetery in Lewisberry. Friends and former colleagues are welcome. Beaver-Urich Funeral Home, Inc, 305 W. Front St., Lewisberry, is in charge of arrangements. John was a real estate developer and investor in Central Pa. He was past president and founder of Delta Development Inc., a senior housing and nursing home developer. He was also former CEO of Pillar Development Inc. and a former Associate Broker with Coldwell Banker. Because of John, many of our community's elderly have safe and affordable housing today. John was also a member of the Masons. He was active in distributing food to the elderly. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening. John will be remembered as an unselfish, giving member of the community.
