John J. Brehm, Jr

York—John J. Brehm, Jr., 71, died Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Rest Haven Nursing Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be 7 PM, Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Beaver-Urich Funeral Home, Inc., 305 W. Front Street, Lewisberry with the Rev. Thomas A. Gilman officiating. A viewing will be held from 6-7 PM, Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will be held 12:30 PM, Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Born August 22, 1942 in Bristol, Bucks County, he was a son of the late John J. Brehm, Sr., and Bernice (Hawker) Brehm. He was employed as a tow motor operator with Graham Packaging for 7 years until his retirement in 2006. He previously worked with CF Trucking for several years as a dock worker. A United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, he was also an avid sports fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies and 76’ers and enjoyed reading. Mr. Brehm is survived by five daughters, Sarah White, Vicki Sapp, Tammy Barnett, Hope Ann Vaughn and Sabrina Brehm; one son, John J. Brehm III; five grandchildren, one great grandchild; one sister, Sue Brehm and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Brehm.
