John H. Crumling, Jr.

YORK – John H. Crumling, Jr., 72, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Elaine R. (Shaffer) Crumling to whom he was married for 34 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Canadochly Evangelical and Reformed Church, 4845 East Prospect Road, York with his pastor, The Rev. William Baral officiating. A viewing will be held from 9-10:00 AM Tuesday at the Church. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with full military honors provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. (Spyker) and John H. Crumling, Sr., he retired from Caterpillar Inc. John was a life member of Red Lion American Legion, spent more than 30 years with Craley Fire Co. and was an active member and former Elder at Canadochly Evangelical and Reformed Church. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and crabbing on the Chesapeake Bay. Mr. Crumling was a US Air Force Veteran of The Vietnam War. In addition to his wife, Mr. Crumling is survived by two sons, Sean and wife Jami Lavery and Scott Lavery both of York; two granddaughters, Abigail and Allison Lavery; four brothers, Donald and wife Stella Crumling of York, Kenneth and wife Gail Crumling of Glen Rock, William and wife Sandy Crumling of Windsor and Curvin “Butch” and wife Jamie Crumling of Craley; two sisters, Linda and husband Charles Wolfe of York and Susan and husband Terry Frey of Felton; numerous nieces and nephews; and his buddy, a sheltie mix named Cody. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry and Dennis Crumling; and a sister, Norma Metzger. Memorial contributions may be made to Canadochly Evangelical and Reformed Church, 4845 E.
