WELLSBURG- John F. Wilkins, 46, of Pine City, NY, passed away on Friday, August 24, 2012 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center surrounded by his family. John was born on May 30, 1966 in Tioga, PA, son of the late John F. McCollum and Barbara E. (Allington) Wilkins. He was a member of the Hand In Hand Free Methodist Church in Elmira, and was a truck driver for SDS and later Keck’s Foods. John was a man who loved Bingo, lottery tickets, and Pepsi, but moreover loved his family most of all. To his family, John wasn’t just their father, but also their hero and friend. John’s family includes his children: Nathaniel McCollum and his fiancé’ Kristine of Pine City, Santana Wilkins, Adrianna (Robert) Maggese, and Katie (Tony) Northrop, all of Elmira, his grandchildren who were the love of his life: Brice, Bentley, Jayden, Jamie, Timothy, and Tayler, his brothers and sisters: Scott (Peggy) Wilkins of Elmira, Cora (John) Koellner of Elmira, Tawny (Rich) Elston of Waverly, Harold (Brenda) Wilkins of Elmira, Maureen McCollum of Canandaigua, and Michelle McCollum of Evansville, IN, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father; mother, and adopted father Verne B. Wilkins. Family and friends are welcome to gather from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at the Roberts funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY. The funeral service to honor John’s life will be held at the conclusion of the viewing at 12:00 PM on Thursday, August 30th at the funeral home with his pastor, Rev. James Payne officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
