John F. Possinger

York—John F. Possinger, 87, died Friday, July 20, 2012 at his residence in W. Manchester Township. He was the husband of the late Ann J. (Davis) Possinger. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York is in charge of arrangements. Born April 11, 1925 in Wilkes Barre, he was a son of late John and Anna (Shelpack) Possinger. He was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II He was employed with York International as a welder for 27 years until his retirement in 1987. He also worked with Pathmark and before he moved to York, John owned a small wood working shop where he sold his hand made furniture. Mr. Possinger is survived by one son, John C. Possinger and his wife, Nancy of MA; one granddaughter, Angela Possinger; a close friend, Mildred H. Kline of York and Mildred’s family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
