John E. Shoemaker, Jr.

LOCK HAVEN - John E. Shoemaker, Jr., 77, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2015 at his residence. He was born May 6, 1938 in Lock Haven a son of the late John E. Shoemaker, Sr. and Louise (Dale) Shoemaker of Lock Haven. John was married on August 1, 1957 to the former Connie L. Caruso. They celebrated 58 years of marriage together. John worked as a detective for the Lock Haven Police Department for 27 years. He then worked for Clinton County as a Court Administrator under Judge Carson V. Brown. He was a 1955 graduate of Lock Haven High School. John was a member of the Elks, F.O.P. and the Sons of Italy all of Lock Haven. He enjoyed the outdoors and hunting. John served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Surviving are his wife and his mother one son John E. (Kim) Shoemaker, III of Pleasant Gap and a daughter Joan L. (Miron) Meyer of Loganton. Four grandchildren Jason, Jamie, Michelle and Michael and six great grandchildren. One sister Patricia Manno of Mill Hall. He was preceded in death by a brother Jake and a sister Connie Patrick. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 26, 2015 at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall. Friends and relatives will be received from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel. The family will provide the flowers. Interment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.
